When I went to Florence, I had no idea what to expect. During our initial walking tour, I learned that the last bridge in my photo set was the only bridge to survive World War II which is why it is called Old Bridge. It is hard to imagine that it was the only bridge to survive considering how many bridges are in the city. There are a bunch of shops all along the sides of the bridge and people used to live above the shops, and subsequently, on the bridge which is pretty cool. And... I got to see a gondola in action.
